Cabbage Soup For Weight Loss? 3 Important Things to Know Before You Begin

Let me begin by saying, that cabbage is very good food source and has long been noted for the ability to help rid the body of water weight.

Cabbage belongs to the important family of cruciferous vegetables, which includes broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts just to name a few.

Cabbage contains these important nutrients:

Vitamin A: Which is responsible for protection of eyes and skin.

Vitamin C: Is an important antioxidant and helps to burn fat.

Vitamin E: Is a fat soluble antioxidant and plays a role in the health of your skin.

Vitamin B: Helps maintain the nerve endings and boosts energy metabolism.

The cabbage soup diet, has been known to work for some people, and the soup itself is perfectly fine to eat as a food.

Now while I certainly do not think cabbage soup for weight loss is the worst thing you can do, let me just say that there are some additional things to consider before you begin this diet.

Here are 3 things you should know about cabbage soup for weight loss:

1. Eating such few calories will leave you starving - literally. You will want to chew your hand off.

2. Eating such few calories will deprive you of the many nutrients that you need every single day and therefore your body will not function as properly as it should. Think brain fog, extreme hunger and feeling weak overall.

3. Eating such few calories will rob you of precious energy you NEED in order to burn calories effectively in the first place, as well as energy you need to function throughout your day.

If you do decide to try cabbage soup for weight loss realize that most of the weight you will lose is water weight, not real fat burn. So this is a temporary budge of your scale, not real weight loss.

In order to burn fat, you MUST eat! Eating foods that are pure and contain fiber as well eating on a regular basis will get the weight off.

There is nothing wrong with adding the cabbage to your diet, even the soup if you wish. But if you think cabbage soup for weight loss and eat nothing else you will be disappointed with the temporary results as well as compromising your body functions.
