Mae IDA Meatloaf
This recipe comes from the old church in southern dinnersIndiana.
Two pounds ground beef
2 eggs
1 1 / 2 cup dry breadcrumbs
3 / 4 cup ketchup
1 / 2 cup hot water
1 pkg dry onion soup mix
1 can (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Using your hands, add the meat and eggs in a bowl. Add the breadcrumbs, and ketchup; combine. Pour hot water into the dry soup mix and stir to blend. Add this mixture to the soup the other ingredients. Mix well. Put the mixture in a loaf of bread. Top meatloaf with bacon 2. Pour the tomato sauce in general. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
SWEET AND sauerkraut
2 pounds red cabbage
1 / 4 pound margarine
1 / 2 cup chopped onion
1 / 2 cup red wine vinegar
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 / 2 teaspoon pepper
Shred cabbage and immerse in very cold water for 30 minutes, then drain. Place drained cabbage in a large saucepan and add vinegar, onion, salt and pepper. Cover the pan and bring> Kool to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the cabbage is just tender, stirring frequently. Add the butter and sugar, stir to melt.
