Family Recipe Traditions - Christmas Crock Pot & Breakfast Old Fashioned Cornbread Dressing Recipes

Christmas Crock Pot Breakfast Recipe

1 bag (32 ounces) frozen hash browns potatoes

1 kg of bacon, cut into pieces, fried anddrained

1 / 2 c diced onion

1 green pepper, diced

3 / 4 lb. Cheddar cheese, diced

1 dozen eggs

1 c milk

1 / teaspoon dry mustard 2

Salt & Pepper

The level of hash browns, bacon, onions, peppers and cheese in a slow cooker, on several levels. Add the cheese. Eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper together, pour the mixture and cook on low for 10 hours. Serves 8.

Old Fashioned Cornbread Dressing Recipe

10 corn bread muffins, crumbled

6 slices bread, crumbled

5 c chicken broth

1 med onion, chopped

3 stalks celery, chopped

3 tablespoons butter or margarine

½ pounds mild sausage

2 eggs beaten

Salt &Pepper

Soak the wheat bread and wheat bread in chicken broth in a large bowl, until liquid is absorbed. Fry the onion 'and celery in butter until soft, then add the sausage and cook until they can be brown, drain. Add sausage mixture to bread and then add the eggs, pepper, salt and pepper, mix well. Spoon dressing into a greased 13x9-inch oven and bake for 1 hour at 350 F or until they are lightly browned. Serves 8.
