Swedish Christmas Recipes for Christmas Julskinka and Sausage

An important part of the celebrations of Christmas in Sweden is the food.

Christmas ham or Julskinka is traditionally on Christmas Eve as part of the celebrations was used. Often the dinner can be a rich buffet, which includes Christmas ham (julskinka), herring (Sild), sausage Christmas (potatis korv), potato salad, sauerkraut and a variety of sausages.

Given that Christmas is the time in Sweden to celebrate Christmas and open their gifts, this is the most important mealvacancy.

Sausage Christmas or Potatis Korv

2 pounds ground lean pork
2 pounds ground lean beef
6 medium raw potatoes, chopped
3 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground allspice
1 / 2 teaspoon pepper
1 medium onion, chopped


Bring a pot of salted water to a simmer.

Put in a bowl, add all ingredients and with each other. Form into rolls about 4 cm long and 2 inches in diameter. Cut parchment paper into 6 inch lengths and sausage wrapboth ends and tie tightly with string. Place the rolls in hot water.
Cook slowly for about 45 minutes. Remove the sausages to take you out of the water and allow to cool before unwrapping.

Serve hot on the Christmas table with Swedish mustard (mustard).

1 easy salted hams, 6-11 pounds
1 egg yolk
1 / 2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons prepared mustard Swedish
3 tablespoons fine bread crumbs
